As far as i can see, nowadays skateboarding can be compared to cinema.
For must of the public, there is no films aside from those made in Hollywood by great stars. People who find themselves as «true» film lovers can enjoy european cinema, bollywood, or asian underground films... just to give you 3 examples.
The only sad thing is that indie films, and indie skate companies, suffer a great struggle to survive... and even if we can consider this not to be fair, thats life!
Probably in some years, or decades, the megacorporate monster will need the help of indie skate business, as the music industry needed new credibility with indie bands, and a wider view of the world of skateboarding will be offered!
