Maybe now that the corpo brands actually have teams/groups of skateboarders to support, some of the money they make actually is filtering to actual individuals that are playing a active role within the "industry".
Where as in the past, when people ran the same shoes, just not with SB tied to it, all the money went to the Corp, that didn't have a group/team to promote it. (80's, 90's and some of the early 00's).

Where as in the past, when people ran the same shoes, just not with SB tied to it, all the money went to the Corp, that didn't have a group/team to promote it. (80's, 90's and some of the early 00's).
